Carol Schepps

For years, with textiles and thread as my medium, I merged my love of fabric, color and graphic design. Using clean lines and meticulous construction techniques borrowed from years of training in graphics and a career in fashion design, I incorporated design integrity and construction complexity with the highest degree of craftsmanship.

This new mixed media work examines the light, reflection and complex elements that comprise otherwise common objects. By unfolding the relationship of lights, darks and color I break down an image and translate it into a new shapes and forms.

Carol was immersed in fiber art for over 20 years, showing in 8 top galleries in the United States. She also applied her style of graphics to design rugs, pillows and throws for Crate and Barrel.

Her fiber pieces are held in numerous private collections in addition to the corporate collections of (select) US Airways, Astra Zeneca, Princeton University, University of Pennsylvania Hospital (Philadelphia and Plainsboro), Firmenich, Princeton Library, Northern California Surgical Group and Du Page Hospital.
