“The work of HomeFront is multi-dimensional. We do much more than provide shelter. Our programs and activities are designed to help families experiencing homelessness gain skills for self-empowerment and develop a vision of a better future for themselves and their children.”HomeFront founder and CEO Connie Mercer
One of the many ways HomeFront enables the transformation of the lives of homeless families is through ArtSpace, which houses HomeFront’s therapeutic art programs.
“More than art, it is a special place where the creative process becomes a tool for self-expression, critical thinking and problem solving that can help transform the lives of the clients HomeFront serves,” says ArtSpace Director Ruthann Traylor.
ArtJam is an annual curated pop-up art gallery in Princeton, New Jersey. Featuring the work of more than 100 well-regarded national and local artists alongside undiscovered HomeFront artists. The exhibit offers original, one-of-a-kind art for sale, including paintings, sculpture, pottery, glassworks and hand-sewn items from SewingSpace, a HomeFront sewing program. ArtJam directly supports HomeFront’s innovative therapeutic art programs.
The exhibit is supported by sponsors and community partners ranging from local corporations to small business owners and friends of HomeFront.

HomeFront believes that for a full and rich life, one that truly breaks through the cycle of poverty, you need more than a roof over your head, food for your belly and a paycheck. The human spirit needs nourishment—the power of life’s richness that gives meaning to our day-to-day lives. ArtSpace illustrates this power.
